Percent of Residents Who Have/Had a Catheter Inserted and Left in Their Bladder (Long Stay)
What does the metric mean?
This measure reports the percentage of residents who have had an indwelling catheter in the last 7 days.
How do we calculate the metric?
The Numerator is the number of long-stay residents residents with a selected target assessment that indicates the use of indwelling catheters
The Denominator is all long-stay residents with a selected target assessment except those with exclusions.
Exclusions:
Target assessment is an admission assessment or a PPS 5-Day assessment.
Indwelling catheter status is missing from the target assessment.
Target assessment indicates neurogenic bladder or neurogenic bladder status is missing.
Target assessment indicates obstructive uropathy or obstructive uropathy status is missing.
