Prevalence of Behavior Symptoms Affecting Others (Long Stay)
What does the metric mean?
This measure reports the percentage of long-stay residents who have behavior symptoms that affect others during the target period.
How do we calculate the metric?
The Numerator is the number of long-stay residents with a selected target assessment where any of the following conditions are true:
The resident exhibits physical behavioral symptoms directed towards others.
The resident exhibits verbal behavioral symptoms directed towards others.
The resident exhibits other behavioral symptoms not directed towards others.
Rejection of care.
Wandering.
The Denominator is all long-stay residents with a selected target assessment except those with exclusions.
Exclusions include:
The target assessment is a discharge assessment
Any of the above items are missing from the target assessment
