Percent of Residents Who Received an Antipsychotic Medication (Long Stay)

  1. What does the metric mean?

This measure reports the percentage of long-stay residents who are receiving antipsychotic drugs in the target period.

  1. How do we calculate the metric?

    1. The Numerator is the number of long-stay residents with a selected target assessment where the following condition is true: antipsychotic medications received

This condition is defined as: 

(N0415A1 = [1]) For assessments with target dates >= 10/01/2023    

  1. The Denominator is all long-stay residents with a selected target assessment, except those with exclusions.

  2. Exclusions include:

    1. The resident did not qualify for the numerator

    2. Any of the following related conditions are present on the target assessment (unless otherwise indicated): 

      1. Schizophrenia

      2. Tourette’s syndrome

      3. Tourette’s syndrome on the prior assessment if this item is not active on the target assessment and if a prior assessment is available

      4.  Huntington’s disease
