Percent of Residents Experiencing One or More Falls with Major Injury (Long Stay)

  1. What does the metric mean?

This measure reports the percent of long-stay residents who have experienced one or more falls with major injury reported in the target period or look-back period.

  1. How do we calculate the metric?

    1. The Numerator is the number of long-stay residents with one or more look-back scan assessments that indicate one or more falls that resulted in major injury.

    2. The Denominator is all long-stay residents with one or more look-back scan assessments except those with exclusions.

    3. Exclusions are any resident whose number of falls with major injury were not coded.
