Overview
The Hospitalization Metrics Graphs allow users to view the Hospitalization Metrics in a visual medium over time, either on a month to month basis, or over a 12 Month Rolling Period. The 12 Month Rolling Period aggregates both the numerator and denominator from the most recent full month and its preceding 11 months to calculate the metric.
Filters
Below is a view of the Hospitalization Metrics Graphs with highlighted areas to illustrate how to use the report.
The black box contains the graphs for the 5 hospitalization metrics. There will be a more in depth look at these metrics and graphs below. To learn more about each of these metrics, see the References section below.
Filters
The red box at the top right allows users to select between a start date and end date, which will change each of the blue boxes for the graphs. These blue boxes contain the Numerator for said metric between the start date and end date, as well as the metric itself expressed as a percentage. The date filters will also shift the 18 month trending view of the graphs.
Individual Metrics
Below is a generic view of a Hospitalization Metric Graph, which will represent all of the metrics, as the filters and actions for each metric graph are the same.
The gray box at the bottom contains the line graph for the metric. The x-axis represents the month, and the y axis represents the metric. This graph shows an 18 month period. The blue line represents the metric each month, and the green line represents the average over the 18 month period. The red dashed lines at the top and bottom of the graph represent the upper and lower controls, which can illustrate outliers for metric values.
Filters
The black box in the middle allows users to toggle between Rolling 12 Month and Monthly views. The Rolling 12 Month view aggregates that month and the previous 11 months and calculates the metric with those numerators and denominators. The Monthly view only displays the metric from the numerators and denominators from that individual month.
Actions
The blue box in the upper left contains the numerator and the metric value for the Hospitalization Metric, and if the user clicks on those numbers they can see a basic description of the Hospitalization Metric as well as have the option to download the Metric data.
The yellow box in the upper right is the information tab. Clicking on the yellow circle will give the user a breakdown of the metric and the graph.
The red box on the right will lead the user to the Graph Module, which allows the user to see the graph in greater detail and have a month to month breakdown of the data.
Graph Module
Below is a generic view of a Hospitalization Metric Graph Module, which will represent all of the metrics, as the actions for each metric graph module are the same.
The Graph Module allows users to see the Metric data further in depth, as well see the data for the graph on a monthly basis. The numbers in the black box contain the Metric for each month, and the numbers in the blue box represent the Numerator for the Metric. For some of the metrics, the Denominator value is included as a column.
Actions
The red box at the top of the graph allows users to toggle between viewing the data in a Rolling 12 Month format and a Monthly Format.
